About Bloom Development

Bloom Development is a private practice that provides psychoeducational and coaching services in small group settings to individuals who want to heal the effects of less-than-nurturing early childhood experiences and establish meaningful interpersonal relationships.

Bloom Development leverages the synergistic effects of small group dynamics to help produce greater insights and greater personal outcomes for clients.

Bloom Development’s educational and coaching services also help couples communicate more clearly, feel better understood and thereby deepen their relationship satisfaction.

Who is Bloom Development?

Bloom Development is led by me — Molly Ruzicka. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 14 years of clinical experience working in private and public agencies. After seven years of direct client service in a county behavioral health bureau, I was promoted to Supervisor and led a clinical team serving adults with serious mental illness. I received in-depth training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), an approach developed to help clients resolve ambivalence and recover from harmful, addictive behaviors, of all types. I provided guidance to clinicians who did this dual recovery work.

In 2006, I began a series of trainings with Pia Mellody — six, in total. She is the author of three books and a workbook sharing her journey, research, findings and treatment approach. I was forever changed by the way Pia explained the complex issues of childhood trauma from a relational perspective and then distilled the patterns into a ground-breaking treatment roadmap for practitioners and healers. I participated in her post-training conference calls to troubleshoot complex cases. As so many are, I am forever grateful to Pia Mellody for her many contributions to the recovery community.

I began using Pia’s model and trainings with clients who had suffered profound relational trauma in their families of origin in both individual therapy and groups. I ran two groups a week for more than ten years. I helped clients recognize how their family histories had adversely affected their well-being and impacted their interpersonal functioning. Over that time, clients experienced ah-ha moments, gained insight, improved their relationship skills, designed coping skills, recovered, healed and expanded their peer and social supports. So many of them reached their ultimate goal: Establishing and maintaining healthier, more fulfilling, connected and successful relationships, of all types.

I watched clients BLOOM!

And while most adults do not live with profound relational trauma, many had less-than-nurturing childhood experiences and today suffer with low self-esteem, social isolation, anxiety, physical illness secondary to dis-ease, diminished functioning and depression.

By providing psychoeducation in an attuned, compassionate, experienced and understanding way, I help clients heal!
